April 23, 2018 - South SLC

What an incredibly awesome week this has been first week of the new transfer, Elder Mulcahy and I are still working hard and finding lots of people to teach. We have a group of some family members, 17 total, that are all interesting and looking to baptism. So we are very excited with how things are going in the area.

Last night we were in North Salt Lake, trying some apartment complexes in the Rose Park area. We ran into some other sister missionaries, and asked if they knew anyone from Burma. The pointed us down the road, and off we went. After making some great contacts, we went back to our car, which was parked at their apartment complex. We saw these two people go by on bikes, then the sisters came running, and told us their bikes were just stolen. So we got in the car fast and chased them down. We lost them for a while, but then Elder Mulcahy felt that we should check behind a sketchy motel. We pulled in, and sure enough found the bikes. They had already been sold, so we approached the people, and told them they had stolen bikes, and we negotiated a deal to obtain the bikes. We then walked the bikes almost a mile back to where the sisters were waiting, they were overjoyed. Then we walked back to the car, and called it a day. It was great that the Lord could guide us to serve His children, even in the most unexpected and bizarre ways. That is probably the highlight of this last week.

I also had some great opportunities to teach people about how much God loves them, and how He provided a way that they can be with their families forever. This specific couple was so happy because that is what they want!

I love my Savior Jesus Christ so much! I am grateful to serve the Lord; I look forward to it every morning!
I love you all!

April 16, 2018 - South SLC

This week was full of just work, work, and more work. We spent a lot of time trying random ideas of how we could find some 75 people in the entire Salt Lake Valley. It was a lot of fun. We talked to people from all over the world, and were able to bear testimony to hundreds of the reality of Our Living Savior Jesus Christ, and witness that God love all of His children and provides a prophet today to lead and guide us. What a blast.

We try to appeal to many people by having events that they can attend. This week we spent multiple hours playing volleyball and other sports, because it brings a large turnout of unbaptized Karenni. We also spent some time in Magna, because many are moving out there for some reason.

All in all, the work progresses. The Lord is leading and guiding us to find his children who are ready to hear the restored gospel. It is a marvelous thing to be a part of. A great experience from the week: We were teaching a Kachin man (another Burmese tribe), and he expressed the concern that he was already baptized. We taught about the priesthood authority, and he said that he wanted to get baptized again. It was an incredible experience to see his desire to follow Jesus Christ. Another experience was before church on Sunday, we asked the Lord to send someone to church who is ready to be baptized soon. A boy named Tu Reh showed up, unexpectedly, and we are going to help him get the priesthood like his friend who got baptized last week did. The Lord works miracles. It is amazing!

A new transfer begins this week, Elder Mulcahy and I remain together. It will be great to serve the Lord more so, and witness miracles. Sister Shurke continues to be in my prayers! Dad shared that the whole stake was asked to pray for her by President Call. I enjoy being happy, as does everyone, and am glad I can maybe brighten the world a little. This gospel can, is and will change the world. Jesus IS the Christ, the Very Son of God, the Savior and Redeemer of the World! I love Him so much.

I love being a missionary so much!

I love you all!

April 9, 2018 - South SLC

One thing I have developed a sure witness, testimony and faith in is that the Lord is ever at the Head of this work. This week just about everything we had planned, and that we thought would be good to do, didn't happen. The Lord instead had better things in store for His children. It was incredible to get out of the way, and almost literally feel the Lord's hand on my back, leading me to be a vessel to bless His children. Many miracles occurred as a result, and my faith increased significantly.

We have been working very hard lately, and we will keep working harder! It is very rewarding at the end of each day to look back and realize how much you did in fulfilling your purpose to invite others to come closer to Jesus Christ.

And the fruits of our labors are continually manifest. PR was baptized on Saturday, and confirmed a member of the Church and recieved the gift of the Holy Ghost on Sunday. He has changed so much. About a month ago, he really wanted to have nothing to do with church. But now, he has experienced a change of heart, and wants to come to church every week. I pray that we all can experience a change in our hearts, and an increased desire to follow Our Savior.
I love you all so much, have an incredible week!

April 2, 2018 - South SLC

What a crazy week! Tuesday and Wednesday were pretty average, just tracking down Karenni all over the Salt Lake Valley. Thursday was Zone Conference, so that was really a powerful experience. Then, Friday we just had weekly planning and then played chit-lo with some Burmese guys.

Then General Conference happened. What an amazing conference! Wow! It truly was incredible to be a part of such history in the hastening of the Lord's work, and continuation of the Restoration, in preparation for the Second Coming of the Lord! I too watched all 5 sessions, 2 of them at the Conference Center - the Priesthood session (9th row back!) and Sunday morning session (front of the second section). Glad you got those pictures from Brother Laudie, and glad I was able to attend the Priesthood Session. An hour before it started we got 2 tickets. But we had 4 lessons scheduled, and dinner. Then after a few phone calls and such, we ended up with just the right amount of time to drive there, be ushered in the special guest door (that’s what our tickets were for) and then sit down and get that first rush of revelation. It was an incredible experience to listen to the prophet of Lord dictate revelation from God. What an exciting new era it is. I was so grateful to be able to stand and sustain President Russell M Nelson as the living Prophet, as well as the other members of the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, with Elder Gong and Elder Soares as the new apostles. What an incredible weekend for sure.

It has been a crazy fun opportunity to serve these amazing people here in Salt Lake City. I never want to leave, and luckily I still have plenty of time! It is amazing! Sunday night we had some lessons lined up, but then a member invited us to an activity, which some of our investigators were at. So we stopped in, and EVERY person we were going to teach was there playing soccer. So this Friday we are going to go play with them, and baptize them all!

I love being a missionary so much! I am so grateful to Our Savior Jesus Christ for His atoning sacrifice, death, and resurrection. Because He overcame all, we can overcome all.
I love you all!
