This week we were blessed to find even more people who want
to learn about Jesus Christ and follow Him. We are now teaching almost 20
people, and all have a desire to learn and many want to be baptized. The power
of the knowledge that God loves us and wants to bless us with the Gift of His
spirit has pierced so many humble hearts, and pricked them with this desire to
follow Him. As I have taught many people the truths of the restored gospel, my
own testimony has been strengthened. I am certain that this all is true.
Everything I teach is doctrine, the very word of Jesus Christ. No other thing
in life can bring us lasting joy, and no other thing even makes sense as to our
existence and purpose. On top of these, I have received a sure witness from the
Holy Ghost that these things are all true. We are all engaged in a greater work
than we can imagine, and I pray we may strive to follow our Savior as He leads
onto the paths of happiness.
It snowed this week. Well, just Sunday. Like a foot. Half
the sacrament meetings got cancelled, plus another 7 hours of meetings we had.
So we went to an English ward (our sacrament meeting was cancelled) with 4
other missionaries, and we did an impromptu musical number (per the Bishops
request) and sang “Nearer my God to Thee.” Only 30 people were in attendance.
It was fun.
Elder Bowman is getting transferred to a new area on
Tuesday. He has been here 7.5 months. (Elder Adams is staying in the South Salt Lake area and
will be training a new elder and will
also be a district leader.) We spent most of the evening teaching
recent converts, investigators, and saying some goodbyes. It was good. Elder Bowman will
do great in another place. It has been a great opportunity to serve with him,
what a great companion!
I love you all, have an incredible week!
